I
n this section you'll find tips, and some important info
to make your sessions flow smoothly.
Questions and thoughts are always welcome. Drop us a line!

1.) The studio schedule is usually booked two weeks out, so if you have certain days you'd like to book, as long as you give two week's notice, you're pretty sure to have whatever days you'd like.

2.) DO make sure to change your guitar/bass strings BEFORE the session, along with giving your rig a thorough check for bad cables or any other problems which might impede your session's ability to be as good as it can be.

3.) Singers, don't schedule a session the day after a gig unless you are THE MAN, because more than likely you will track something you won't be completely happy with. This scenario happens so often that it's not funny anymore. Just a tip for you to get the most out of your session here at Leap.

4.) DO limit the amount of non-band members you bring with you to the session to as few as possible. The difference it makes when you don't have two irrelevant conversations going on in the room and three different cell phones ringing is noticable. It's just more difficult when there's a bunch of random people wandering around while several others are trying to concentrate.

5.) We don't mind if you have to cancel a session for whatever reason as long as you give some sort of notice of the cancellation BEFORE the session. Need to re-schedule? Just give us a call and let us know.

6.) If you are a voice talent coming to record, please make sure to bring your scripts with you, and if you have a digital copy to email it to Leap before your session.

7.) If you would like Leap to mix or master anything you've done at another studio, please just give us a call so we can talk about the details (file types, resolution etc.) of the project, and how best to deliver them to you.

8.) It is a REALLY good idea to know your material as well as possible before you come to the studio. This is true for musicians as well as voice artists.

9.) If you are interested in learning how to record your own band or need audio consulting, Leap can help. Give a call and we'll be happy to answer any questions you may have.

10.) If you need to be squeezed in short notice, we can work with you, but for an increased hourly rate. Heck, for the right price, we'll do jumping jacks while making muffins and shine your shoes, if that's what you need.

11.)  As a rule, Leap does not give out rough copies of any, let us stress ANY music projects, until the mix is complete. There are multiple reasons for this and the main one is that we don't want to share work out in the world when it is still in an unfinished state. Pretty understandable we think. We want to make your projects sound the very best they can be. Then... share away!

12.) Please limit the number of cars coming to the studio if recording a band, as parking can be limited.

13.) Have a great day. We look forward to seeing you at your next (or first) session at Leap Studios!
